Delete Your Account

Effective date: 19 April 2026

You can delete your BandLah! account and all associated data at any time. This page explains how, what is deleted, and what (if anything) is retained.

1. Delete from inside the app (recommended)

The fastest way is from within the app:

1. Open BandLah! and sign in.
2. Go to the Profile tab.
3. Tap Settings.
4. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
5. Confirm the deletion. Your account and data are removed immediately.

2. Delete without the app

If you no longer have the app installed, or can't sign in, you can request deletion by email:

So we can verify your identity, please send the request from your registered email. We'll confirm the deletion within 7 days.

3. What is deleted

When you delete your account, the following is permanently removed:

• Your Firebase Authentication record (email, password hash, auth provider links)
• Your profile document (display name, bio, instruments, genres, experience, location, availability, sample links)
• Your profile photo
• Your WhatsApp number
• Ads you have posted
• Connection requests you sent or received, and any accepted connections
• Your device push-notification tokens

4. What is retained

We keep the minimum necessary to meet legal, security, and fraud-prevention obligations:

• Auth and abuse logs (IP, timestamps, device fingerprint) — retained for up to 30 days, then purged. We keep these to investigate abuse reports filed before you deleted.
• Aggregated analytics — event counts with no personally identifying fields. Retained indefinitely in aggregate form only.
• Email notification logs (from transactional emails we sent you) — retained by our email provider per their standard retention window.

None of the retained data is linked back to your identity in a way that lets us re-identify you.

5. Effect of deletion

Deletion is irreversible. Once your account is deleted:

• You will no longer be discoverable in the app.
• People you were connected with will see "User deleted" in place of your profile.
• Your email can be used to create a new BandLah! account, but it will start empty — we cannot restore your previous data.
